Military inspired superyacht OPV 56 Project revealed

Fledgling Italian builder Antonini Navi is to build a 56 metre military-inspired custom superyacht named the OPV 56 Project.

Designed by Fulvio De Simoni for a European owner, the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) superyacht features an aluminium hull and superstructure, and strong military-inspired exterior design.

Key features include “austere lines”, according to the yard, alongside a “functionalist” design approach, where every aspect of the design has a clear purpose.

Elsewhere, the yacht features an imposing high bow, helipad on the foredeck and aft deck measuring 150 square metres. Inside the sub 500GT interior, the upper deck will be dedicated to the master suite.

Speaking about the design, De Simoni said: “At sea, simplicity is an added value: seagoing performance, easy to use onboard spaces and services, and rational construction are qualities that experienced owners cannot fail to appreciate.”

Antonini Navi partner and sales director Aldo Manna added: “We are very pleased with such a concrete expression of interest just 10 months after the shipyard’s debut in the world of superyachts.

“The market seems to appreciate our production and design flexibility, but most importantly our willingness to build truly custom superyachts made to measure according to our customers’ requirements.”

It comes as construction continues on Antonini Navi’s 40 metre modular hull superyacht model UP40.
