65m classic yacht Lady Esther redelivered following three-year rebuild

5 June 2025 • Written by Dea Jusufi

The 65-metre classic yacht Lady Esther has been officially redelivered following a three-year rebuild with Damen Maaskant. She was relaunched last year from the Dutch yard's Stellendam site and is now cruising off the eastern coast of Spain, according to BOATPro.

Works were extensive, with Lady Esther benefiting from a 10-metre extension, a reconfigured interior layout, two glass-walled decks and a new Jacuzzi. The released imagery shows a marked difference to Lady Esther's exterior, with designer Vripack opting for a rigid, masculine design typical of explorer yachts. The Dutch studio is also responsible for the interior design, though details are undisclosed.

The yacht (then called Hanse) was delivered in 1979 by German shipyard Elsflether Werft AG. Miami-based studio Luiz de Basto is responsible for her original design, while naval architecture was completed by Alpha Marine. Accommodation is across seven cabins and includes a main deck master suite and a VIP cabin.

The sundeck is the main social hub, originally arranged with a wet bar, Jacuzzi, sunpads and a selection of gym equipment. Full details of the refit are yet to be disclosed.

Lady Esther has undergone several other refits in her 45 years on the water. According to BOATPro, her last major rebuild was completed in 2004 and involved a 5.8-metre extension.
