In Convoy with Aurora Borealis
Joy Rider captured underway with the recently delivered first hull in the Amels 220 superyacht range Aurora Borealis.
The Helideck
Joy Rider features a generous touch and go helipad aft and accommodation for a crew of seven, including a helicopter pilot. Elsewhere, Joy Rider has enough deck space to carry a small aircraft, a submersible, a six-wheel drive off-road vehicle and tenders weighing up to six tonnes and measuring 10.5 metres.
The Bridge
Joy Rider's propulsion comes from a pair of Caterpillar C32 TTA engines for a top speed of 16.5 knots and range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
At Anchor
Other features on board Joy Rider include zero-speed stabilisers and a deck crane for tenders and toys weighing up to 6.7 tonnes.
The Galley
The 10 square metre galley on board Joy Rider is fitted with plentiful dry, cold and freeze storage to facilitate long periods at sea.
Main Deck Guest Stateroom
Three guest ensuite cabins furnished in yacht quality interiors comprise the accommodation on board Joy Rider. The crew quarters meanwhile accommodate a staff of seven.
The Master Stateroom
Built with an aluminium superstructure, the exterior and interior design of Joy Rider was handled by Damen’s in-house design team.
The Main Deck Saloon
The 25 square metre dining and saloon area on board Joy Rider.
The Sundeck
Located behind the wheelhouse, the 28 square metre sun deck is the perfect spot for guests to spend a relaxing evening. The versatile space can also be used to store Jet Skis and other water toys.
