The Italian Sea Group (TISG) and legendary Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani have revealed their 72-metre superyacht collaboration, currently in build, at a star-studded gala evening at the shipyard’s headquarters at Marina di Carrara on Saturday (11 February).

The custom project, built under the Admiral brand, is the first in a series of two designed by Giorgio Armani in partnership with Admiral Style Centre and is due for delivery in early 2024. Exterior features include "geometric volumes" balanced by "curvier, softer shapes" and full-height openings that can be adjusted using sliding panels, according to the shipyard.

The interior is by Armani/Casa and uses a soft and minimalist palette that contrasts the use of refined materials and hand-crafted finishes. The first interior renderings show polished marble floors with gold accents and occasional use of dark wood. The main saloon features two facing sofas and with a forward formal dining space that can be closed off with dividers, while other highlights include a vast aft deck lounge on the upper deck, a beach club gym and a massage room.

The project was first glimpsed in 2021 and the collaboration is part of a wider company strategy to collaborate with luxury Italian brands, according to CEO and founder of TISG Giovanni Costantino. “Our goal is to continue growing by further developing the activity of brand extension with luxury brands, such as Italian fashion and high technology firms,” he said. “Armani is synonymous with timeless elegance and sophistication and its stylistic vision will also increase our stylistic sensitivity.”

Another example of this kind of partnership is the collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini on the design and construction of a sports car-inspired pocket-superyacht Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 in 2020.

"The sea and design are two of my greatest passions. With this new collaboration, I have extended my idea of furnishing and decor to the nautical world, in which – just as in fashion – aesthetics and functionality come together in a natural and elegant style," said Giorgio Armani, Chairman and CEO of the Armani Group. "This highly stimulating project has allowed me to create customised spaces with Armani/Casa – like made-to-measure clothing – with the same craftsmanship applied to the choice of materials, details and production."

Costantino added that the yacht will “represent a uniqueness in the panorama of superyachts”, describing it as a “real surprise” boasting design “typical of the Armani style”.

The 72-metre yacht was revealed at a private event held at TISG’s headquarters for 650 guests. Giorgio Armani attended the event, which incorporated an introduction of his brand’s spring/summer 2023 men's and women's collections. Guests were also treated to a private dinner by Chef Cerea,  a representative of the Da Vittorio restaurant that holds three Michelin stars.
