Watch: Evo Yachts' new V8 flagship underway

30 September 2021 • Written by Miranda Blazeby

The 24m flagship of Evo Yachts, the V8, has been revealed underway in a brand new video released by the Neapolitan shipyard. It comes after the yacht received its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2021.

The first yacht in the builder's V Line, the V8 is designed by Valerio Rivellini and features "clean lines and a refined design", according to the builder.

Formerly named Velar 78 and based on a concept previously launched by Rivellini, the V8 was originally developed as a 21.5 metre yacht before reaching its final form.

The interiors of the yacht are fully customisable, but the first unit features a large lounge and dining area, accommodation for six guests and four helm stations.

The shipyard previously described the yacht as having a design that “combines the strengths of both motor and sailing yachts”. This is seen in the large helm that has been inspired by those found on sailing yachts.

Designer Valerio Rivellini explained: “Usually motor yacht lovers begin their holiday when they reach their destination, either at anchor off the coast or in port, whereas sailing yacht enthusiasts start their holiday right away, as soon as they step on board.

"Evo V8 combines the speed of a motor yacht with the comfort and relaxation of sailing”.
