Italian yard Columbus Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, has released the first interior images of its custom 50-metre Anjelif. This follows her delivery last month, with the superyacht currently making her debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.
With engineering from the team at Palumbo, both the exterior and interior have been created by Marco Casali of Italian studio Too-Design for experienced owner Maria Francesca Angelini, with naval architecture by Hydro Tec. Beyond her champagne hull, the model is notable for a number of technical innovations such as its hybrid diesel-electric propulsion and onboard sanitisation systems.
The yacht incorporates cold plasma for the elimination of airborne viruses and bacteria from the outside airflow, involved in both indoor ventilation and air conditioning. Meanwhile, a second system keeps the interior areas fresh with an automated cleaning function at preset intervals.
The layout consists of five guest cabins, including a main deck master and four double cabins positioned below, while a further seven cabins house up to 11 crew. The owner's quarters include a massage room, an office, a gym, a wardrobe and a work desk that doubles as a vanity. Meanwhile, the en suite bathroom is fitted with a double sink in yellow quartz, a Jacuzzi, a large mosaic Hammam and a separate cabin for a sauna. A large, fixed balcony completes the list of private amenities for the owner.
True to the owner's wishes, the interior of Anjelif features the heavy use of natural materials, including oak, Canaletto walnut, matte rose gold metal and a dining table with a precious oyster shell top.
The sundeck is an important social hub, arranged with two large, adjustable sunloungers, an eight-person table, a large bar, sofa seating and a custom Jacuzzi framed by sunpads and further seating. A swimming pool can be found on the main deck aft with an exposed teak finish, complemented by a second Jacuzzi on the top deck.
Other highlights include a touch-and-go helipad on the bow that converts to an open-air cinema when not in use.
According to the yard, the hybrid system (engineered by Palumbo) uses two 100kW electric motors for a speed of approximately nine knots while in diesel-electric mode. When coupled with the propulsion motors, the dual system can be used as shaft generators, allowing for navigation with the gen-sets off. The yacht also includes a latest-generation lithium battery pack as a source of backup electricity, "avoiding any possibility of blackout during the transient phases".
Otherwise, the 499GT vessel uses twin MTU diesel engines of 1,939kW each for a top speed of 20 knots and a 3,000-nautical-mile range at 12 knots.
This follows the news that Columbus Yachts had laid the keel of the first unit in its 37-metre Atlantique series. Delivery is scheduled for 2025.
