Italian shipyard Codecasa Shipyards has launched hull C124, the sixth unit of its Codecasa 43 series, from its production facility in Viareggio in the presence of the crew and the President of Confindustria Nautica. The 43-metre custom full displacement yacht has been christened Gioia.
The exterior design, marked by the series’ trademark vertical bow and large windows, is by Codecasa Shipyards' in-house technical staff. The interior design, by Cor D. Rover Design, is arranged in two light-filled saloons, four large guest cabins and an owner’s suite, located forward on the main deck. Crew accommodation comprises four twin cabins with separate captain's quarters. Other highlights are the spacious exterior spaces throughout the three decks including the sundeck with a Jacuzzi.
Key numbers include an internal volume that sits just below 500 GT, a nine-metre beam and 2.6-metre draught. The yacht is equipped with two Caterpillar C32 “Acert” (1,600 hp @ 2,300 rpm), propelling her to a top speed of 16 knots at light displacement with a range of 4,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 11 knots.
Hull C124 follows the recent launch of the 57.8-metre Kathryn, an on-spec build that was sold earlier in 2023.
