Some fresh southern hemisphere news with a launch announcement from New Zealand. The 30.48m catamaran sailing yacht Q5 (hull YD66) has just been rolled out her shed at Yachting Developments prior to her imminent launch.

Designed by Warwick Yacht Design, Q5 will be the fourth multi-hull superyacht over 30m launched in 2012. Built in composite, she offers spacious accommodation thanks to a beam of 14.63m. The interior, with design by Redman Whiteley Dixon, is laid out for 10 guests in five cabins plus a crew of six.

Her Southern Spars carbon fibre mast has been already fitted, and under power she will reach a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots from twin 460hp Caterpillar engines.

Q5 will hit the water in June and is expected to be delivered this summer.
