Brythonic Yachts has revealed a redesigned version of its 89-metre explorer yacht concept, known as Lontano.
The concept was first revealed in 2021 as a conversion project, which would have used an X-Bow supply ship as a doner hull. It has now been decided that Lontano would be built from scratch, with delivery expected within 36 months of commissioning. The concept has also been lengthened from its original 78 metres.
Lontano would be constructed in Lloyds Grade A steel, with an exterior characterised by bold lines, extensive glazing on the aft deck and an axe bow. The explorer yacht is designed with a range of amenities, featuring a beach club, gym, swimming pool, spa and helipad. A fold-out balcony provides an exclusive vantage point, even when underway, allowing guests to experience far-reaching views.
Outdoor areas are optimised for relaxation, with ample lounging spaces distributed across multiple decks, including expansive sunpads on the sun deck. Floor-to-ceiling windows "enhance the modern aesthetic", according to the yard, creating easy transitions between interior and exterior spaces.
Accommodation is across an owner's suite, 10 guest cabins, 13 crew cabins and a separate captain's cabin. Renderings are unreleased, but her interiors would be designed by Bassan&Benedetti, who previously shared the 80-metre conversion concept Kestrel with BOAT International.
The yard also promised a great degree of flexibility, with clients able to work directly with Brythonic Yachts' design and naval architecture teams to customise the vessel according to their personal taste.
Lontano would be powered by a pair of 4,500hp multi-fuel marine turbines, providing a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
Brythonic Yachts recently collaborated with Alpha Tango Yachts on a 49.7-metre concept named LUX. The superyacht would be built at Sea Horse Yachts' facilities in Sri Lanka, which are currently under construction.
