American design studio Designova Creative + Associates Innovation Consultancy has unveiled a cyborg-inspired "light explorer" concept known as Project Javelin.
The superyacht – from the drawing board of president and founder, J. David Weiss – has been designed as a "new yacht", that Weiss describes as, "stray[ing] from convention."
Presented as a "light-explorer" superyacht, Project Javelin was curated in response to Weiss' frequent client dialogue that requested longer vessels with a lower volume and more flexible use.
At 65 metres, this superyacht has an "open" design, said to cater to more immediate use such as "quick deployments for spontaneous trips."
Low and slender, Project Javelin's profile is as sleek as her "spear" name suggests. A beam of 9.5 metres provides extensive exterior spaces for relaxing and entertaining, in addition to a sizeable multi-craft landing pad and Jacuzzi located on her aft deck.
Her interiors are flexible: able to accommodate luggage from "heliskiing one week to family-friendly island hopping the next." Two interior arrangements have been presented by the studio: one with a spacious owner's suite and cargo and toy stores instead of VIP cabins; another with more "conventional" VIP suite accommodation.
"Project Javelin represents just one shining fresh facet of these new beginnings, and we look forward to the next stages of this evolution", shared Weiss.
The concept is designed for either diesel or hybrid propulsion, with a fast displacement style hull form that can be tailored to each owner and the changing demands of crew. A shallow draft adds to her flexible "light-explorer" cruising opportunities and worry-free navigation, ideal for low waters such as the Caribbean.
