18 April 2024 • Written by Dea Jusufi

The 63.7-metre motor yacht Cupani has had a change of central agent and is now listed with Frank Grzeszczak of FGI Yacht Group.

Designed by Ole Steen Knudsen, Cupani (ex. Albula and Turmoil) was built to travel great distances. Her ice-strengthened hull and Lloyd's-class build are courtesy of Royal Denship, who last refitted Cupani in 2020.

The original owner and captain who built the yacht had a great deal of explorer experience, having travelled 10 years in their first expedition yacht – a 46-metre Palmer Johnson named Turmoil. Since her launch, she has travelled the oceans of the world, with her current owner using the vessel for marine research voyages.

Cupani is asking $29,950,000

Accommodation is for 16 guests across eight cabins, with further space for 14 crew. This includes a full-beam master cabin on its own private deck with two separate ensuites. Guest accommodation comprises three cabins with two twin beds, two cabins with a king bed and one with a double bed – all ensuite. Interior styling is traditional and warm, with an extensive use of American cherry wood alongside blue carpentry and furniture accents.

Cupani also features a large gym and an elevator that serves all five decks.

The explorer is equipped with a scientific climatology lab and research facilities to investigate the consequences of global warming in the world’s oceans. The 1,428GT yacht benefits from a variety of work areas that include a wet lab, a lecture room and a large lazarette with wet work area. She also has a drop-down swim platform, large dive locker with compressor and ample storage areas.

In order to make her completely independent, her bridge deck aft serves as a helicopter deck and fuelling station. Equipped with a crane of SWL 2,000 lbs, it can also be used as overflow storage for smaller boats. Cupani can also accommodate tenders up to 9.8 metres on her spacious boat deck, with a single-point lift crane of SWL 10,000 lbs.

Powered by twin 2,260hp Caterpillar engines, this yacht for sale has a range of 6,500 nautical miles at 15 knots.

Cupani is asking $29,950,000. She is lying in Palma, Spain.
