The 28.96 metre motor yacht Chagos, listed for sale by Josh Gulbranson and Trevor Carroll at Fraser, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Alex Clarke at Denison Yachting.
Built in steel by US yard Ocean Voyager, she was delivered in 2013 as a custom built explorer yacht to serve as a mothership and base of operations for chasing world record fish off the coast of West Africa. Her no-frills interior has accommodation for six guests in three cabins consisting of a master suite, VIP suite and a twin, all with en-suite bathroom facilities. In addition, there are quarters for two crew, although she was designed to be easily handled by a husband and wife team.
The saloon has L-shaped seating, a table and a separate dining area with built-in upholstered seating for six guests. Her hull is based on a proven commercial fishing boat design offering an economical long range, low maintenance costs, high reliability and optimum performance at sea.
She comes equipped with a custom built ‘flats’ fishing boat, space for tenders and water toys of all shapes and a Palfinger knuckle-style commercial crane capable of launching the fishing boat on either side of the vessel.
Other features include a stainless steel commercial grade galley, LED lighting throughout and state of the art Simrad electronics with many built-in redundant systems. Twin 350hp Cummins diesel engines give her a cruising speed of eight knots.
Chagos was asking $950,000.
