The 61.5-metre motor yacht Calypso has been newly listed for sale by Jonathan Zwaans of Y.CO.
Originally designed by Michael Leach – as Solemar – the steel-hulled Amels yacht was delivered in the Netherlands in 2003 and has since had interior updates by Rodriguez Interiors. She was refitted in 2017.
Accommodating up to 18 guests in seven cabins – six doubles and one convertible – served by a 15-strong crew, Calypso's "lavish" interior is richly decorated and voluminous. She has a spectacular two-level master suite at main deck level. Stretching to the full beam, this suite is described as a "sanctuary" and, sporting an overhead skylight, is truly impressive. Leach does not hold back on ceiling heights and Calypso's is 4.2 metres high here.
There is also a connected queen cabin at main deck level – which converts to a massage suite – and a VIP cabin on the bridge deck, while the remaining four doubles are located on the lower deck, each with additional Pullman berths.
The sun deck is split into three sections, with the forward area featuring lounge seating and a Jacuzzi. An enclosed, air-conditioned gym is situated centrally and aft there is an open space which is ideal for sunbathing or exterior workouts – which also has an outdoor cinema set up. On the bridge deck there is a large al fresco dining table which is sheltered from the elements, while on the main deck there is a comfortable exterior seating area.
The broker commented: "Calypso offers sensational volume for her size, and her full-beam, two-level master suite is a must-see space. Having recently completed her 20-year survey and with a recent repaint, she’s ready immediately".
The 1,149GT yacht for sale is powered by twin 2,600hp Caterpillar engines giving her a cruising speed of 15 knots and top speed of 18 knots. Range is 4,000 nautical miles and she has proved herself having cruised the world from the Indian Ocean to Iceland.
Calypso is asking €40,000,000 and will be on display at Monaco Yacht Show.
