Following a bumper year, filled with new shipyard facilities, superyacht models and innovative technologies, BOAT rounds up all the latest news and updates from Turkish shipyard Sirena from 2024.

Sirena sailed into 2024 with remarkable momentum, starting the year with a full order book and reflecting significant growth across its portfolio of yachts. The shipyard celebrated over 40 successful deliveries in 2023, covering its entire size range, including popular models like the Sirena 58, 68 and 78. This surge in demand was accompanied by a 20 per cent increase in production capacity.

This increased production capacity led the shipyard to a major milestone - the opening of new shipyard facilities in Yalova. These waterside build halls added 150,000 square metres of construction space to the shipyard’s estate to accommodate the shipyard's growing superyacht line. The first model to benefit from this expansion is the 42-metre superyacht. The opening of the Yalova facility brought a workforce of 1,200 people and introduced advanced capabilities, with hot steel work such as cutting, bending and welding handled on-site, as well as outfitting and interior fit-out processes.

In April, Sirena took a significant step forward in modernising its operations by implementing the Oracle Fusion ERP Project. Delivered via cloud services and integrated with artificial intelligence, the system aims to streamline production, logistics and cybersecurity processes. The project helps identify material, time and capacity constraints, prioritises demands, and directs the supply chain to minimise disruptions. Additionally, it optimises warehouse management by using AI to avoid excess stock and improve the use of space. With over 280 processes set to benefit, the project is slated for completion by 1 January 2025.

August: The Sirena Summer Party

As summer reached its peak, Sirena hosted a glamorous party at the stunning Villa Maçakizi to mark its successes so far in 2024. The exclusive event brought together friends of the shipyard to enjoy a picturesque venue near Bodrum, exquisite cuisine and world-class entertainment, including a set by renowned DJ Mahmut Orhan. The party also offered a teaser of the new Sirena 118, which was fully unveiled later in the year. It was a perfect moment to reflect on achievements before the busy boat show season began.

September saw exciting advancements in the construction of Sirena’s 42-metre superyacht at its new Yalova facility. The aluminium superstructure was successfully joined to the hull, and preparations for outfitting are set to begin early next year. Designed by Luca Vallebona, with interiors by Hot Lab and naval architecture by Van Oossanen, the yacht will feature a customisable master suite, four guest cabins, and a private owner’s terrace in the bow. Delivery is expected in 2026.

At the Cannes Yachting Festival, Sirena unveiled its first-ever hybrid model, the Sirena 48 Coupe Hybrid. Featuring a streamlined superstructure and integrated solar panels, the yacht can operate silently and emission-free for up to eight hours at anchor with its standard battery pack, or up to 16 hours with the optional upgrade. In silent electric mode, the yacht covers up to 30 nautical miles with its twin 213kW electric motors before switching to its variable-speed generators.

The Monaco Yacht Show served as the stage for the debut of the Sirena 118, the largest model in the shipyard’s composite line. The 36-metre GRP superyacht features a tri-deck layout with six guest cabins and an optional two-deck "loft" owner's suite. Its exterior lines were penned by Sirena’s in-house team, while the interior was designed by Cor D. Rover and the naval architecture by German Frers. Key features include informal dining on the main deck aft, expansive dining with a wet bar on the upper deck, and a private exterior deck.
