The best celebrity yachting moments of 2016

Kiwi glamour model and reality TV star Zilda Williams (right) enjoyed some winter sun alongside fellow model and TV presenter Jordan Finlayson aboard a luxury yacht in Australia in early 2016. The television personality is known to be a great fan of luxury yachts and is often spotted at parties and events which include a superyacht cruise around Sydney Harbour.

Heiress and DJ Paris Hilton celebrated her 35th birthday in style with an exotic luxury vacation. Although she has kept quiet about her exact location, it is easy to tell from her social media posts that she has visited a far flung destination such as the Maldives or French Polynesia. While there Hilton also shared this snap from a yacht during a trip to one of the world's best scuba diving spots.

American actress Shay Mitchell combined work and pleasure as she enjoyed some time on board a luxury catamaran during a photoshoot in Hawaii in February 2016. Mitchell, best known for her role in TV thriller Pretty Little Liars, was joined on board by fellow actress Elysia Rotaru and the pair turned a work trip into a vacation by snorkelling, sunbathing and jumping from the side of the catamaran into the ocean below.

Actress and comedian Amy Schumer showed off her funny side in February 2016 during a luxury yacht vacation. Schumer - who sent the internet into a frenzy in 2015 when she posted an image of herself performing a human pyramid on board a superyacht with Jennifer Lawrence - this time opted for the slightly more traditional shot of herself and friends, including Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica, fellow comedian Bridget Everett and boyfriend Ben Hanisch, leaping off the yacht's aft deck swim platform.

Pop star Kylie Minogue is no stranger to a glamorous superyacht vacation so when she headed home to perform in Sydney in March 2016 it only made sense that she should make time for a envy-inducing cruise around Sydney Harbour. Looking relaxed and at home on a luxury yacht, Kylie demonstrated why there really is no better way for an international music sensation to travel.

Musician Robin Thicke and his girlfriend, model April Love Geary (pictured), shared a series of snaps on social media as they explored the Maldives on a superyacht in May 2016. The pair began their vacation in Dubai, where they also made use of a luxury yacht to cruise the coastline, before heading on to the paradise destination.

However, this was not the couple's first superyacht vacation of 2016. Love Geary shared a snap of the pair's lavish New Year's Eve meal on board a superyacht in St Barts in January and the pair were also spotted visiting Leonardo DiCaprio - who was staying on a neighbouring yacht - and checking out one of the largest superyachts in the world, Roman Abramovich's Eclipse, from the comfort of their jet skis.

Reality TV star Kylie Jenner celebrated her 19th birthday in style with a cruise on board a luxury yacht in Turks & Caicos in August 2016. Jenner was joined by friends including Jordyn Woods (pictured) and models Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin for the trip which saw the group anchor at one of the best beaches in the Caribbean for a secluded swim.

American pop star Nicole Scherzinger shared a series of snaps from her Mediterranean superyacht vacation in August 2016. Scherzinger joined Black Eyed Peas band members Will.I.Am, Apl.de.Ap and Taboo Nawasha to discover some of Croatia's hidden gems on board the luxury yacht and made good use of the vessel's outdoor spaces for sunbathing and yoga - one of the top sports you can do on your yacht.

American actress Lindsay Lohan was spotted enjoying a luxury yacht vacation in Sardinia in August 2016. Lohan chose the 48.2 metre CRN yacht Kanaloa - which is currently for sale - for the vacation and appeared very taken with the yacht, even posting numerous pictures of her sundeck and exterior. The star also made good use of the yacht's large toy box and was seen enjoying a fishing trip and leaping from the yacht's top deck into the sea below.

This was not Lohan's first yacht vacation of 2016. In May she became one of the many celebrities spotted on yachts at the Cannes Film Festival when she took a vacation on board 45 metre Fathom. She also provided a number of 2015's best celebrity yacht moments while enjoying superyacht vacations in St Tropez and Greece.

American model and socialite Olivia Palermo was spotted enjoying a luxury yacht vacation in Mykonos in August 2016. Palermo was joined by her husband, model Johannes Huebl, and photographer Carlos Souza as a guest of Giancarlo Giametti and Valentino Garavani on board their yacht T.M. Blue One.

The yacht is a permanent fixture around the Italian Riviera and Greek coastlines during the Mediterranean season and has played host to a number of celebrities, including Anne Hathaway and Bianca Brandolini, in recent years. However, she has also become known for the numerous pictures of pets on board that her fashion designer owners share of their adorable pugs and Chihuahuas.
