With the clock ticking down until the Superyacht Design Festival (January 28-30 2024), we can now announce a packed social programme to accompany the event. This year’s festival will be heading to the picturesque mountains of Kitzbühel for three days of awards, inspiring talks, interviews, workshops and panels, as well as enjoying all that this famous alpine town has to offer.
Attendees of the Superyacht Design Festival will be based at the K3 KitzKongress conference centre, in the heart of the town, for the three-day event.
The festival will open on 28 January with the BOAT Design & Innovation Awards, where the naval architecture, styling, innovation and engineering of the world’s best superyachts will be recognised.
After the ceremony, guests will then be invited to wrap up and head out onto K3's heated outside terrace to celebrate the winners. With little wooden huts creating a winter wonderland ambiance serving food and mulled wine, guests will be able to mingle and soak up some alpine atmosphere with a traditional band and music.
The next day, following the opening day of the conference where speakers will include global AI expert Neil Leach and biodesign expert Dr Amy Congdon, attendees will be invited to gather for the Festival Social.
Taking place at the Restaurant Hochkitzbühel bei Tomschy, this famous Kitzbühel hangout 1,700 metres above sea level boasts panoramic views of the mountains. Reached only by a gondola, each guest will be served a glass of champagne to sip on the scenic ascent to the restaurant.
With “alpine chic” as the dress code, the evening will include a three-course Austrian-inspired feast and entertainment in the alpine-style mountain lodge, with the party continuing until midnight. The conference will conclude the next day with BOAT International’s editor-in-chief Stewart Campbell’s fireside chat with legendary designer Dickie Bannenberg.
On 30th January, attendees are invited to head to the Ski Cup & Après Ski Party, held in association with Lürssen. This will be held at the Zielhaus Red Bull restaurant, the perfect race base for skiers and supporters with terraces offering great views of all the action. There will be transfers from the K3 to the restaurant at 11.30 - registration is from 12.00 and the first race will start at 13.30. The restaurant is only a few minutes walk from the town centre at the foot of the famous Hahnenkamm run.
There will be four competitions this year during the Ski Cup – the Women’s Giant Slalom race, Men’s Giant Slalom, Snowboarding Giant Slalom and the Team Race. The latter will see participants form teams of three and then race again in a bid for the fastest combined time.
For those wanting to partake in the race, pre-registration is essential. To complete this, please login here to modify your original registration and complete the questions in the 'options' tab. BOAT has secured preferential rates for those wishing to hire ski equipment. Find out more information on the Ski Cup and social programme here.
All of the winners will be revealed in a prize-giving ceremony at 16:00 with the Après Ski Party then continuing at Zielhaus Red Bull where there will be a DJ as well as food and drink.
