New superyacht show to be held in Montenegro

A new pop-up superyacht show will take place in Montenegro later this year (3-5 September) as the result of a partnership between Porto Montenegro and MYBA, the worldwide yachting association.

The new show will be held at Porto Montenegro

The inaugural show is focused on the charter yacht marker and is open to MYBA charter brokers, agents and the public as well. The show will give both the industry and potential charter yacht clients the chance to network, do business and climb aboard spectacular charter yachts.

Fiona Maureso, president of MYBA, said: “Yachts that are finishing up the summer season in the Adriatic or planning on wintering in Porto Montenegro will find the timing and location of this event very convenient and, for brokers, this will be a wonderful chance to inspect charter and brokerage yachts in a stunning location that they may not be familiar with yet.

“We’re keeping the programme under wraps for now, but rest assured that the social events and networking opportunities will be amazing.”

Montenegro has seen a rapid increase in superyacht charters over the past few years and has even been dubbed “ the new Monaco”. Its success is partly based on its yacht-friendly legislation, outside EU tax benefits (e.g. 0% VAT on charters, tax-and duty-free fuel) as well as its rapidly growing infrastructure.

“We are delighted to be working alongside MYBA and to be the host destination of this new event concept,” said Porto Montenegro managing director Oliver Corlette.

“It will be a great opportunity to showcase the exceptional conditions Montenegro offers to superyachts where we are investing significantly to create a new commercial centre for the superyacht industry.”

The show will be open to all MYBA-registered yachts over 20m and as Porto Montenegro has berths up to 180m there are no size restrictions. MYBA members, YACHTFOLIO subscribers and MYBA e-contract subscribers, will automatically be accepted

All applications and interest should be sent to myba.show@portomontenegro.com
