With state-of-the-art sound systems, dancefloors and light shows, few venues could compare to that of a luxury yacht. Whether celebrating milestone birthdays, anniversaries or simply an excuse to dance, here are a selection of the finest party yachts available for charter.
Kenshō
Instantly recognisable, the flowing lines and metallic blue-green hull are enough of a reason to charter this magnificent 75-metre yacht, which is relatively new to the charter fleet having been delivered last year. But alongside Kensho's striking design are her sublime credentials for an impressive party.
Her sundeck has been carefully laid out to create different social spaces. Forward, there is a round table for two or three to eat an intimate meal together. Here also, is an integrated spa pool with a cut-away glass side and a large sunbed, with a shape inspired by a manta ray. Past the lift, the deck opens out to provide sinuous seating, an oval dining table and a relaxed sofa area. All this is under the shell-like expanse of the 3.4-metre-high domed hardtop, which has been hand-painted inside and artfully lit. All the furniture is loose and can be removed to turn the deck into a VIP party space. A DJ-quality sound system, which includes speakers built into the awning poles, can bring it to life with 120dB of noise.
Kenshō is managed for charter by Y.CO and has a weekly rate starting from €850,000.
Christina O
For a yacht with such an illustrious history, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Christina O is no stranger to a party. Formerly owned by Greek tycoon Aristotle Onassis, the classic 99.1-metre, has hosted the likes of Winston Churchill, the Kennedys, Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra among many others. Most recently the yacht rose to fame after securing a role in Netflix drama The Crown and Triangle of Sadness. Years after her delivery, she is still considered one of the most iconic classic yachts on the water and her popularity as a true entertainer has stood the test of time, offering several spaces on board to host impressive gatherings.
Inside, her classic saloon, or Callas lounge as it's known, is the perfect spot for a gathering, which is headed by an antique Steinway (one of three pianos on board) and walls mounted with the photos of the A-lister guests that have stepped aboard over the years. Other entertaining spaces on board include the Lapis lounge, which has a library of leather-bound books and an open fireplace and leads into Ari’s Bar.
Out on deck, the space for entertaining continues, especially around her aft deck, which had a mosaic hydraulic swimming pool depicting the Minotaur that can be drained and raised to create an opulent dance floor. Above, on the duel-level Jacuzzi deck, lies a huge backlit bar, which glows a deep blue at night. For music lovers, Christina O has the capacity to host gigs on the deck, and given her capacity to carry up to 157 passengers, she can certainly accommodate a sizeable celebration.
Christina O is available to charter with Morley Yachts with a weekly rate starting from €700,000.
Savannah
With a striking metallic hull and contemporary profile, the 83.5-metre Feadship Savannah certainly isn’t a yacht that flies under the radar. Quite simply, this striking superyacht remains the ultimate head-turner and the ultimate platform for those looking to impress and host a serious party. As guests board, they are presented with her vast saloon on the main deck, which exists as an open space. The saloon is on the same level as the pool and, with the sliding curved-glass weathertight doors open and stacked invisibly out of the way, it is essentially a covered outdoor extension of the weather deck and a perfect space for gatherings. A psychedelic video wall also lines the passage between the two saloons on the main deck and the catwalk connecting the saloon and dining area of the owner’s deck.
Up on the sun deck, Savannah boasts a state-of-the-art DJ station and a bar, complete with an open fireplace that plays into the yacht’s sublime lighting set-up.
Managed for charter by Edmiston, Savannah has a weekly rate starting from €1,000,000.
Tranquility
While her name may suggest otherwise, the 91.5-metre superyacht, Tranquility is no stranger to a celebration. Having been the yacht of choice for Kylie Jenner's birthday in 2019, the vessel’s party credentials are second to none, with DJ decks, huge entertaining spaces and two helipads. With interiors by Winch Design, there is a subtle oriental influence on board, and she is embellished with luxurious material finishes such as Travertine Velluto marble, gold leaf, bleached oak and wenge wood detailing. Her walls are embossed with ornate murals and she has a number of striking chandeliers for extra sparkle.
A former winner of the World Superyacht Awards, Tranquility has the capacity to accommodate up to 22 guests across 11 cabins, making her a great choice for a larger celebration. But with all great parties comes the need for respite, which Tranquility has in the form of a spectacular wellness area. With an indulgent spa suite, the yacht has a Finnish sauna, Hammam, experiential showers, plunge pool and a massage and treatment room for some post-party pampering.
Tranquility is managed for charter with Camper and Nicholsons with a weekly rate from $1,200,000 per week.
Khalilah
Delivered by American yard Palmer Johnson in 2015, the 49-metre motor yacht Khalilah isn’t exactly an understated vessel with her striking gold finish and angular profile. The all-carbon golden superyacht is bold from the inside and a technological marvel with no compromise on speed, efficiency, comfort and space. The original owner wanted a simple but playful interior and she features a spiral of LED lights inset in the ceiling above the entrance foyer, a glass octopus and low-lying colourful seats on top of wide-beam parquet flooring set the tone. But it is not long before the eyes wander towards the floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the saloon. Bright pops of colour liven up the interior, and remind guests that they’re on board a glistening gold superyacht.
But for gatherings, Khalilah boasts an enormous aft deck of 110 square metres – closer to the space you’d expect on a much larger vessel. This is the yacht to choose for al fresco entertaining, with uninterrupted views thanks to her glass bulwarks and open decks.
Khalilah is managed for charter by Fraser with a weekly rate from €255,000.
