Winch Design has teamed up with Boston Boatworks and Zurn Yacht Design to present a new Boston Boatworks 52 Offshore Express Cruiser, also called BB52.
The 17.3-metre express cruiser aims to toe the line between production and semi-custom, offering good scope for flexibility and a number of finishes developed by Winch Design.
"As a brand that is all about lifestyle, we are delighted to be involved in a project that resonates with us and our clients" commented Jim Dixon, managing partner and creative director of Winch Design "In every design we create, we strive to create a comfortable home on the water. A client should step on board and feel the harmony between interior and exterior, experiencing a high level of comfort and build quality. The BB52 achieves all that—and more," he said.
The boat is described as "fast and distinctive" with a 40-knot top speed, a two-cabin layout and an interior saloon area that functions as a dining space. It features a pop-out television integrated into the bulkhead and a helm station forward. Further aft, there is an open cockpit with unfolding tables and an extending swim platform, accessed via twin gates to port and starboard.
The interior colour palette has been designed to emulate "the spirit and colours of Nantucket", with deep blues, crisp whites and sunset-inspired orange accents. In a press release, a representative of Winch said: "Winch designed the space to be light and spacious, incorporating a multitude of elegant and intelligent features to enhance the lifestyle on board".
Scott Smith, Boston Boatworks CEO and founder said: "The BB52 embodies our 27 years of experience building the best high-performing offshore yachts, with some of the world’s most knowledgeable and avid boaters. This is the boat we’ve always wanted to build, for the dedicated express cruiser owner-operator that we know best."
He added that Boston Boatworks had "concentrated the best solutions into one design to call our own.”
