Studio Vafiadis, helmed by Giorgio and Stefano Vafiadis, has designed the 72 metre superyacht O'Pari 3, currently in build at Golden Yachts in Greece.

Giorgio Vafiadis has revealed more details behind the design of this new build, which is the ninth yacht that Vafiadis has designed for the owner. According to Giorgio Vafiadis, the owner's brief for his latest yacht was for something that would stand the test time – a yacht that is both modern but contemporary, and with soft exterior lines and a large internal volume.

" came up with a yacht with well-balanced volumes and a gentle longitudinal profile with continuous lines and low bulkheads to enhance the sea views," says Vafiadis. "The main deck, upper deck and bridge deck all have uninterrupted sea views thanks to the low bulwarks."

Another brief from the owner was to be able to accommodate his VIP guests in cabins equal or very similar to the owner's stateroom, so Vafiadis designed the yacht with three owner's suites. The first owner's suite is found forward on the main deck and boasts a private balcony, the second is forward on the upper deck and the third owner's cabin is aft on the bridge deck and enjoys a private deck aft. In addition, there are two VIP cabins on the main deck and three additional guest cabins span the main and upper decks. O'Pari 3 can accommodate 19 guests in total when used privately and 12 when chartering.

This was part of the brief as well, to design a boat that was appealing to her owner for private use and equally appealing for the wider charter market. Three owner's suites should satiate charterers who all will enjoy master stateroom accommodations.

The crew quarters for the 24-strong crew are on the lower deck, comprising crew accommodation, galley and service facilities. Crew also enjoy a dedicated crew gym on the tank deck level, where a professional laundry and cold storage can also be found. The general arrangement of O'Pari 3 is designed so guest and crew circulation is completely separate. To ease service, each deck has its own pantry and is connected to the galley via a large dumbwaiter.

An impressive central staircase will connect each level from lower to bridge deck. The flybridge hosts wind-protected al fresco dining for 16, full bar and barbecue and a spa tub surrounded by sunpads.

O'Pari 3 is due to be delivered in May 2015.
