Italian shipyard Arcadia Yachts has announced the sale of two A96 models with both contracts signed at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.
The first unit in the A96 series was presented in Cannes and is the first in a new series that blends the manoeuvrability and speed of the Sherpa range with the large volumes typical of the brand’s A range.
One defining feature of the new model is an open stern with a large swim platform and lounge space, extended further by bulwarks that drop down to form sea terraces. In total, the yacht offers around 400 square metres of usable space and will be equipped with solar panels that provide between eight to nine hours in silent mode.
The main saloon – with a lounge and interior dining space – is accessed via sliding glass doors and the space can be opened almost entirely with additional sliding doors to port and starboard to create a single open space that occupies the majority of the main deck.
The upper deck has a similar set up with sliding glass doors that offer access to a foredeck lounge.
Four Volvo IPS engines will deliver a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 600 nautical miles at 16 knots. At 10 knots, the A96 will have a 2,000 nautical mile range. Both units sold will cruise in the Mediterranean.
The A96 is the mid-level offering in the shipyard's A range and joins the A85, A105 and A115 flagship on the water. Also under construction at the shipyard is an A105 and A115.
