Italian yard Tankoa Yachts has introduced a new, 52-metre model at this year's Monaco Yacht Show. Known as the T520 Fenice – named for the famous opera house in Venice – the yacht follows in the footsteps of the T680 Fenice which was first revealed in 2022.
Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design has returned to work on the T520 Fenice with inspiration drawn from her bigger sister as well as the automotive and aeronautical world. The automotive inspiration is evident in the stern's distinctive shape as well as the grey hull with its "anthracite accents".
The model's standout feature is its stern area, which comprises a series of interconnected spaces arranged on different levels for a "striking three-dimension effect". This begins with the panoramic cockpit, which overlooks an infinity pool flanked by sunpads, which in turn features a watercourse that flows through the pool and links it to the beach club below.
The beach club, naturally, is connected to the swim platform, as well as a lower deck gym. The latter is designed with a sauna, interior lounge and digital sculpture.
"The yacht’s design emphasises large and flexible environments, such as the extended flybridge with glass panels, adaptable to various uses depending on the owner’s preferences," explained Gobbi. "Among these is a sky lounge with aft-opening doors, as well as a generous foredeck area with a spectacular forward-facing pool, accessible to all guests and linked to the aft lounge area."
Accommodation is across five cabins, including a VIP cabin behind the bridge and a full-beam owner's suite complete with study area, private terrace and a full-beam en suite with multiple configurations available.
The sundeck is a major communal area with its sofa seating, sunpads and semi-enclosed glass saloon positioned under the mast for dining. There is also the option to include a forward spa pool or observation cockpit. Other leisure highlights include the foredeck lounge, arranged with a second pool and the upper deck which has al fresco dining and a lounge space.
The forward garage under the foredeck houses a 6.5-metre guest tender alongside the crew tender and watertoys.
"[The Fenice T520] is another virtuoso performance, perfect for discerning owners who enjoy the quiet refinement we offer that enables us to cater to their every need while delivering a unique yacht of unsurpassed quality," said Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa’s sales manager.
This news follows the delivery of Rilassata, the sixth unit in Tankoa Yachts' newly-styled 49.9-metre series.
