The 70.2-metre Lürssen yacht Saint Nicolas has arrived at Abeking and Rasmussen's shipyard in Lemwerder, Germany for a comprehensive refit. Work is expected to take eight months to complete and includes a "notable" extension on the swimming platform alongside a new gym and spa on the sundeck. This follows the superyacht's sale in October 2023.
Delivered in 2007, Saint Nicolas is the second hull in a mini-series of Espen Øino-designed superyachts. Pascoli International will be responsible for the exterior refit, which will see "modern elements" integrated while still maintaining the yacht's classic lines.
Interiors were originally the work of François Zuretti, with the interior refurbishment now being handled by Patrick Knowles Design. The yacht's interiors are known for its "rare and distinctive" materials, including parchment, palm, mother-of-pearl, shagreen, bamboo and buffalo hide.
Accommodation is across six double cabins, two of which are equipped with bunk beds for children, along with a seventh cabin for two staff members. Standout features include her impressive 2.3-metre minimum headroom throughout, an elevator running right through from tank deck to pool deck, and a swimming pool with counter-current jets and a bar.
"This refit project represents a significant milestone for A&R Services," said Daniel Reichwald, managing director of A&R Services. "We are honoured to have been chosen as the preferred partner for revitalising this iconic motor yacht. Our team is committed to delivering an exceptional job and exceeding the owner's expectations."
The new swim platform has been designed by American naval architecture firm Murray & Associates. The project will be managed by Arrow Yachts.
Saint Nicolas' last comprehensive refit was in 2016.
