Lynx Yachts has released new renderings of its 29 metre crossover concept Orion.
The yard revealed the concept, designed in collaboration with Dragoni Design Lab, in July at a press conference at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
Named after the eponymous constellation, Orion is the “result of extensive and lengthy market research and anaylsis carried out together with Lynx Yachts’ management and president,” sales and marketing manager Filippo Rossi previously said.
Speaking about the design, Michele Dragoni said: “The Orion constellation takes the form of two trapeziums, which are joined along one side to create an evocative play of shapes.”
“It is this form that inspired me for the design of the superstructure and in particular, the connection between the hull and the wheelhouse, the latter of which is completely separate from the upper deck saloon.”
The exterior is described as “modern” with “a typical Mediterranean style”. Spaces have been kept open and unobstructed running through the boat from the beach club platform aft through to the forward lounge.
The yacht is characterised by large open spaces with far reaching visibility at the stern, which features a “theatre” feature, which Lynx said “has never been developed in this way before”.
The six metre tender is stored on the aft platform of the main deck, with the davit built into the superstructure. This means none of the main furnishings need to be moved or stored during the launch and retrieval of the tender.
Full height glass doors and windows allow plenty of natural light into the main saloon, which is furnished with loose, customisable furniture.
The wheelhouse sits on the upper deck alongside a panoramic dining area aft that can be set up for indoor or outdoor use. Aft of the dining room is an intimate exterior area with a bar. The walkaround configuration of the upper deck meanwhile allows guests to reach the seating area at the bow with ease.
Accommodation on board is for a total of eight guests in four lower deck cabins; two twins, one VIP and a full beam master. The crew quarters for four staff are located aft of the engine room while the galley is located forward of the main deck on the port side.
