Columbus Yachts, a brand of the Palumbo Group, has launched the first unit in its 47-metre Atlantique series, named Acqua Chiara.

The yard announced the sale of the first unit in 2021 and construction began shortly after. Designed inside and out by Milan-based studio Hot Lab and with naval architecture developed by Columbus Yachts, the 499GT yacht is characterised by a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The exterior depicts taut yet fluid lines, which "widen at the centre of the boat and then taper at the stern and bow", according to the yard.

In line with the Atlantique range, the stern lines are the focal element of the superyacht with sailing inspiration at the heart of its design. From the stern, there are three outdoor spaces to choose from, including a covered dining area, a living area with pool and opening balconies and a platform with a transformer 50cm above water. A second large pool is found at the bow of the main deck and is served by a sunbathing area, a circular sofa and side tables.

The interiors meanwhile are characterised by a modern yet urban aesthetic with contrasting leather, white and dark marble, glass and mosaic throughout. Accommodation is for a total of 10 guests across five cabins, comprising a master cabin located forward on the main deck while, below deck, there are two king-size bed cabins and two cabins with twin beds. There is further space for a crew of eight on the lower deck.

Standout amenities include a swimming pool on the forward upper deck, also home to an al fresco dining area with a bar and seating looking out over the ocean, and a large sun deck “dedicated to conviviality”. A second, smaller spa pool is found down at the open-air beach club, with steps on each side leading down to the water's edge.

The yacht features two swimming pools.

The garage on the starboard side houses the five-metre tender, while at the bow on the port side, there is a second garage for the rescue tender and two jet skis.

Power comes from two 1,350hp engines for a top speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 3,400 nautical miles when cruising at 12 knots.

According to BOATPro, Columbus Yachts has four yachts currently on order or under construction.
