Newly formed Dutch shipyard Leapher Yachts has announced construction is well underway on its 60.5-metre explorer yacht Horizon (previously known as Project Lazarus) at the old Shipyard De Hoop in Tolkamer, the Netherlands.
With the yacht's hull and superstructure now joined, delivery is scheduled for September 2025 when she plans on making her international debut at the Monaco Yacht Show.
Naval architecture is owed to Van Oossanen Naval Architects while Cor D. Rover and O7 Designers have also been involved in the yacht's design. Horizon will be capable of traversing high-latitude regions and provide 40 days of autonomy at sea, while still carrying the luxury qualities of a superyacht.
The polar-classed explorer boasts a massive 1,753GT volume and accommodates 14 guests across six cabins. On board highlights include a dedicated beach club, expansive pool, sauna, gym and diving room. An expansive garage will host a range of tenders and water toys.
Denison yacht broker Alex G. Clarke commented on the news: "Horizon represents the only new polar-classed expedition yacht currently under construction and available for sale with a delivery in the next two years, so this is an extremely attractive opportunity to purchase a true global explorer and start planning a trip of a lifetime.
He continued: "Dynamic positioning, a massive beach club, and a garage give clients the ability to carry an almost unlimited supply of toys. The machine spaces are unlike anything I have ever seen with the entire lower deck dedicated to the operations of the vessel. The welding and metal work is as fine as anything coming out of Northern Europe so when finished she is really going to shock the market when sitting in Port Hercules during the Monaco Yacht Show."
With a top speed of 12 knots, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots with a range of 9,000 nautical miles.
Horizon is listed for sale with Denison Yachting at an asking price of €80 million.
Leapher Yachts will soon reveal details on the NAVIX50, a 499GT, 49-metre explorer yacht designed by British studio AB Yacht Design.
