The eighth hull in the Amels 242 series, now known to be christened Nome, was sighted on sea trials near Vlissingen in the Netherlands. She is now preparing for final outfitting works ahead of her delivery this summer.
A standout exterior was a priority for Nome's owner, with the superyacht characterised by a Flag blue hull and an Oyster white superstructure. Key numbers include a 12.5-metre beam, a 3.9-metre draft and a top speed of 16.5 knots.
Winch Design was appointed for Nome's custom interiors. The studio has continued the superyacht's distinct colour scheme with a wall of semi-precious blue agate stones installed in the main entranceway. A range of blue marbles can also be found onboard, as well as blue mosaics featured throughout the wellness area.
Further highlights include a dedicated owner's deck with a Jacuzzi, as well as a large aft swimming pool and lower wellness space. Accommodation is for up to 12 across six cabins, and guests will benefit from the ample dining and entertaining layouts on her multiple decks.
According to BOATPro, Amels has 12 yachts currently in build or on order. This includes the seventh hull in its Espen Øino-designed Amels 60 series, which entered outfitting in February 2024.
