BlackCat Superyachts and Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design have teamed once up again for the second model in this maxi catamaran series.
The BlackCat 35 metre has been designed to offer exceptional sailing performance as well as high fuel efficiency when cruising under power, thanks to a lightweight carbon-fibre hull. McKeon has provided the distinctive exterior lines for the project.
Mitch Booth, founder of BlackCat Superyachts, explained: “After launching the BlackCat 50 model in 2016, it became apparent that the market appetite for a high-quality multihull superyachts is rapidly growing. The BlackCat 35 offers the same characteristics of style and performance in a smaller model.”
The 14 metre beam of the BlackCat 35 means that owners can expect huge interior volumes, with accommodation for up to eight guests and four crewmembers. The interior specifications are open to customisation, with M2 Atelier signed on to create a bespoke décor.
Key features include a large main deck saloon with a single-level design — ideal for hosting large dinner parties or entertaining guests. Two raised helm positions are situated to either side of the shaded cockpit, while a spacious foredeck seating area adds to the al fresco relaxation options on the BlackCat 35.
BlackCat Superyachts estimates that the 35 will have a maximum speed of 32 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 20 knots. Build partners include Baltic Yachts, who will create the hull and decking, and North Sails, who will provide and optimise the sails and rig package.
The news comes two months after international brokerage firm Y.CO was appointed to handle all sales enquiries for the BlackCat Superyachts project.
