The 36.6-metre Benetti superyacht Andiamo has been captured on fire and capsized at Island Gardens Marina in Miami.
Miami Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at around 7.30pm on Wednesday night and brought the fire under control within two hours. No other boats were damaged and no injuries have been reported.
A tweet from the force read: “Miami Fire Rescue units responded to a 120 foot yacht that was on fire at approximately 07:30pm today. Units from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami Beach Fire Rescue were called upon to assist with water assets. Fire was under control within two hours and no other boats were damaged.”
It has been reported elsewhere that the yacht is owned by American singer Marc Anthony, though it is not believed he was on board at the time of the fire.
A 7News reporter tweeted: “7News sources are telling us the 120[foot] boat currently on fire while docked at Watson Island is owned by recording artist Marc Anthony. No injuries.”
It has been reported however that between six and seven crew members were evacuated. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Delivered in 2006, Andiamo has a volume of 299GT and accommodation for up to 10 guests.
