An in-build 81.7 metre explorer yacht named Project Kilkea has been listed for sale by Peter Jones and Nick Burleigh at Edmiston & Company.
Currently in build in steel at the commercial yard Vard in Vietnam to DNV class, she has been designed by Bannenberg & Rowell with enough storage, fuel reserves and refrigeration to enable her to operate completely autonomously for 30 days, enabling her to rove to the furthest regions of the oceans.
With an ice classed hull, her present layout is configured for up to 36 guests in 18 cabins, all with entertainment centres, 32 inch LED television screens and en suite bathroom facilities. A new owner can select a new layout or, indeed, move her to another yard for final fit out.
Project Kilkea has been designed to be environmentally friendly with the focus on low fuel consumption. She will have diesel-electric propulsion utilizing four electric generators and four diesel engines driving two controllable pitch propellers. She will have a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 15.4 knots and will be fitted with zero speed stabilisers
This yacht for sale features an on-board hospital and a massive 668 square metre main deck with two fixed cranes for loading supplies and there is a proposed heli deck the size of a tennis court with a helicopter hangar.
Because the hull is now nearly complete, the yacht could be delivered before the end of 2016, depending on the degree of customization a new owner decides upon.
Project Kilkea is asking $62 million.
