The 46.1-metre sailing yacht Wellenreiter has been sold in-house at Camper & Nicholsons with Alex Lees-Buckley and Gaston Lees-Buckley representing the seller and Alex Lees-Buckley representing the buyer. The buyer marks the sloop's second owner since her delivery in 2003.
Custom built to Lloyd's class and MCA compliance, Wellenreiter is the largest sailing yacht ever built by Dutch shipyard Jongert. With an aluminium superstructure plus a keel and centreboard configuration, she features a classic design by Andre Hoek of Hoek Design Naval Architects B.V.
There is flexible accommodation on board for up to eight guests. With a three-cabin layout, she can accommodate six across the master suite that stretches the full 8.9-metre beam, a double and a twin. An optional four-cabin layout, accommodating a total of eight, can be achieved by converting the study adjacent to the owner's stateroom into another twin cabin. There are separate crew quarters in the bow for a team of six.
The interior features plenty of spacious living areas, including an open-plan saloon and dining room showcasing classic wooden décor combined with cream upholstery, and there is ample seating for guests to relax out on deck.
According to the broker, Wellenreiter has "a very high sail area-to-displacement ratio for a keelboat". Other technical elements include a furling boom, captive winches and storage for two tenders in the stern and bow. An MTU 670hp engine can provide a top speed of approximately 12 knots and a cruising speed of approximately 10 knots.
Lying in Monaco, Wellenreiter was last asking €6,950,000.
