Vickers Studio

Established in 2015 Vickers Studio is a talented, award-winning, interior design and exterior styling team led by John Vickers based on the south coast of England.

History

Vickers Studio is led by husband and wife team John and Gemma Vickers. John started his career as one of the inaugural designers at Redman Whiteley Dixon (now RWD). During his seven years at RWD he contributed to the acclaimed 55.5m Feadship Twizzle (now Mary A),the 73m Amels Ilona and the ground breaking 155m Lurssen superyacht Al Said, which held the record as the world’s largest volume yacht at that time.

John then joined the London-based architecture firm Candy & Candy where he established the yachting division. His notable project at Candy & Candy was the design of the 62mCandyscape II, now Sealion, where he successfully completed the design within a remarkable four month timeframe, earning the accolade of a Best Superyacht award. In 2007, John left Candy & Candy and joined the studio of Terence Disdale, specializing in the design of general arrangements, exterior, and interior configurations. Notable projects during this period included the 162.2m Eclipse, 147.25m Topaz, and the Abeking & Rasmussen sisterships: the 81-metre Kibo (now Grace) and the 81.8-metre RoMEA.

In 2015, John founded Vickers Studio with the aim of providing a comprehensive and deeply personalized approach to crafting clients' dream yachts. With a current staff of 8, Vickers Studio prides itself on a highly detailed approach that begins with attentive listening, followed by sketching, CAD, 3D visuals and culminating in the yachts delivery. The studio excels in creating tasteful interiors and exteriors that seamlessly incorporate clients' passions into the very fabric of the design. They run various projects simultaneously and are currently working on a very large prestigious refit alongside the new-build work.

Additionally, they undertook the new-build interior design for the Sanlorenzo 56.5m Almaand they are adept at managing a diverse range of complex projects simultaneously.
