Fulvio De Simoni
History
Beginning his career as a naval design architect in the 1970s, Italian superyacht designer Fulvio de Simoni drew on a passion for boating – which had been a part of his life since childhood – and a love of architecture and design. Propelled by these driving forces De Simoni set up yacht design company Italprojects in 1983, specialising in high technology projects in the naval sector.
Italprojects has subsequently developed a formidable reputation particularly in the production and semi-custom yacht fields, with some 2,500 yachts bearing the Fulvio de Simoni and Italprojects design label. De Simoni interior designs tend to be handled by others in the studio, as De Simoni himself prefers to focus on yacht exterior styling and the integration of architectural principles with shape and functionality the prime considerations – followed by innovation, creativity and style.
Notable yachts
Fulvio de Simoni yachts include the development of the open yacht concept, demonstrated in the Italian Pershing range for which Italprojects has developed the entire range since it first launched. Recent notable de Simoni projects include the innovative Wider 150 and Wider 42 yachts.
Specialisations
Fulvio de Simoni has developed long-standing collaborations with several well know shipyards including Pershing, Aicon, Astondoa, Filippetti Yacht, Rodman and Mochi Craft. Hi collaboration with Tilli Antonelli at Pershing led to Italprojects’ involvement with Antonelli’s Wider concept.
