More superyacht berths are now available at OneOcean Port Vell in Barcelona as it has completed its final stage of development.
The marina underwent an €80 million redevelopment in 2014 to transform it into a leading superyacht destination in the heart of Barcelona. This final stage of works has seen the addition of a further eight superyacht berths that can accommodate yachts between 30 metres and 80 metres. This means that OneOcean Port Vell now has 158 berths ranging from five to 190 metres. During this final stage of development an additional €5 million has also been spent to develop infrastructure, utilities, landscape, lighting and security.
The marina has attracted some of the world's coolest superyachts over the past 12 months including 157 metre Dilbar, 119 metre Motor Yacht__A and 107 metre explorer yacht Ulysses. The expansion was designed to help meet the growing demand for superyacht berths in the region.
“A driving factor behind this latest investment to increase the berth capacity at OneOcean Port Vell was to address the real berthing shortages for superyachts in the Mediterranean," said chairman of OneOcean Martin Bellamy. "We have seen evidence of demand outstripping supply in the most highly desirable locations. Barcelona is one such location, and we believe the marina is well positioned to take advantage of the trend towards more superyachts choosing to homeport in the Mediterranean.”
