Brokerage report: October sales value more than doubles results from one year ago

Data from BOATPro showed that 20 brokerage yacht sales (24 metres and above) were completed in October 2024, with a total value* of €320.3 million.

This is more than double the value of sales (2.3 times) recorded during the same month a year ago, despite a similar number of sales. October 2023 saw 22 sales with a total value of €138.4 million.

Therefore, the average value of sales in October 2024, at €16.0 million, was also 2.3 times that of October 2023 when it was €6.9 million.

Baglietto's 52-metre Daybreak represented the most expensive sale in October 2024

The most expensive sale in October was the 52-metre Baglietto motor yacht Daybreak (ex Dopamine), designed by Francesco Paszkowski with an "ultra-contemporary" interior design by Studio Vafiadis. She had been asking €36,900,000 and was sold with Marine Max introducing the buyer and Denison Yachting and SuperYachtsMonaco representing the seller.

Price drops were substantially higher than those from the previous year, with 116 in October 2024 totalling €103.4 million against 69 drops in October 2023 totalling €51.8 million.

The biggest reduction in October 2024 saw €7.5 million shaved from the price of Golden Yachts' 84.7-metre O'Ptasia (pictured at top). Currently listed with Fraser and Burgess, the yacht is now asking €82.5M. She was designed by Studio Vafiadis.

The Pendennis-built Hemisphere is the most expensive new listing in October (excluding new builds), asking €46,000,000

There were 61 new listings in October 2024, valued at €692.8 million. This is compared to 43 new listings in September 2024, valued at €424.9 million. The average new listing price in October was €11.7 million, which is similar to the €11.5 million average figure in September.  One year ago, in October 2023, there were 71 new listings with a total value of €562 million and an average asking price of €8.4 million.

The most expensive new brokerage listing (excluding new builds offered by brokers) for October was the 46-metre Pendennis sailing catamaran Hemisphere, asking €46 million with Henry Craven-Smith of Burgess.

Other 50-metre-plus new listings for the month include two 50-metre Westports, Gigi, asking $28,500,000 with Worth Avenue, and Valinor, asking $28,950,000 with Northrop & Johnson. There was also the 53-metre Sanlorenzo, Oceanbird (asking €39,900,000 with SuperYachtsMonaco), 56-metre Benetti Aelia (asking €38,500,000 with IYC), as well as the upcoming 52-metre Dynamiq GTT 170, asking €27,500,000 with Denison (2027 delivery), and the 76-metre new-build Feadship One, asking €172,500,000 with Feadship Resale and Edmiston (2025 delivery).
