Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has revealed its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2023, reporting a gross order backlog equal to €1.24 billion as of 31 March 2023. The total value represents an increase of 5.2 per cent compared to the same period in 2022, with 92 per cent already sold to end clients and deliveries extending until 2026, owing to a significant collection of orders in the last two years.

However, order intake for the individual three-month period in 2023 fell slightly compared to a year ago, decreasing from €262.4 million in 2022 to €170.1 million. According to the Group's financial statement, this result marked a return to industry seasonality (where lower activity is typically recorded across the winter months) following the "exceptional" results of 2022.
