Italian shipyard Apreamare has announced a new refit division exclusively for its own yachts at its Sorrento facilities.
The new facility will span 3,000 square metres and will have the capacity to host five boats simultaneously. It was officially opened at the start of September.
The historic shipyard, which dates its roots back to 1849, has around 2,000 boats on the water and the new division has the capacity to “meet the needs of the entire fleet”.
A spokesperson for the yard said that the premise for the division is to “take your [Apreamare boat] to the person who built it to restore it to its original splendour”.
Cataldo Aprea, president of Apreamare, said: “It is a source of pride for me to announce this new refit division, which was born from a market request, and which testifies to the prestige of our boats sailing the world’s seas. A special thanks to all the Apreamare workers who work every day with commitment and care so that we can continue to offer a product of the highest quality.”
The announcement was made during the Genoa International Boat Show, where Apreamare had the only worldwide debut of the event. The 27.7-metre Maestro 88 was revealed during the show because “Apreamare is an Italian brand intertwined with the sea, and the Genoa Boat Show shares those qualities”, according to the yard.
