An additional design studio has been added to the team chosen to pen the interiors of 289m private residence yacht Njord.
London-based studio Taylor Howes, which has worked on more than one thousand bespoke projects across the globe from private luxury residences and royal palaces to spas and hotels, joins an exclusive selection of international interior designers currently engaged in the project.
Chosen by Ocean Residences Development (ORD), the team behind Njord, and overseen by ORD’s chief designer Jean Stutzman, the studios were briefed to create concepts for one of the penthouses and a residential apartment on board.
The selected studios include Jean-Michel Gathy, founder of architecture and design studio Denniston, and Francesca Muzio, co-founder of FM Architettura, which has penned the interiors of yachts including the 55m Feadship yacht Somnium, 65.17m Lurssen yacht Polar Star and 52m Abeking and Rasmussen Amore Mio 2.
Speaking about FM Architettura’s interior designs for Njord, Muzio said: “Our clients are buying a home for life on board Njord, and the centre of our inspiration is always the individual person, their emotional relationship to their home, and their lifestyle.
“This sense of belonging, together with health, wellbeing and sustainability are the main focus of our designs.”
Kelly Hoppen Interiors, which has previously collaborated with Pearl Yachts on its yachts interiors, has also been selected as one of Njord’s interior designers.
“Being able to create homes for people on board Njord gives me great pleasure, as I am passionate about designing couture and unique interiors and spaces that reflect the resident’s needs and individuality,” she said.
Another familiar face from the world of superyacht design is Sabrina Monte-Carlo. Founded by Sabrina Monteleone, the partner of Njord’s exterior design Espen Øino, the studio supplies superyachts, such as Kismet and Silver Fast, with outdoor and indoor furniture, fabrics and products.
1508 London, a design studio specialising in high-end private residences, and Linley, which was founded by David Linley in 1985, has also stepped on board the project. They joined Norwegian studio Studiobecker, Jenan Interior Design and Pinto to complete the lineup.
