The 44.2-metre Benetti motor yacht The Star was sold at auction on 9 December in Australia, with Brock Rodwell of Ray White Marine as central agent.
Delivered in 2002 as a Benetti Vision, the Italian, GRP-built yacht had extensive upgrades in 2019. François Zuretti designed her interior. A Lloyd's Register five-year class survey was completed in 2024.
The Star's interior has been reconfigured to allow for entertaining large groups – the broker said she is AMSA compliant for 80 passengers. Sleeping accommodation is for 10 guests in five staterooms and there are quarters for a crew of nine. The main deck entertainment room forward could be converted into a master cabin, according to the broker. Upper and lower decks may be reached via a glass elevator, which is a feature in itself, surrounded by a staircase and high-gloss wood panelling.
At 12 knots, range is an impressive 5,000 nautical miles, under twin 1,300hp Caterpillar diesels. The 443GT yacht for sale has a maximum speed of 15 knots and cruising speed of 13 knots.
The Star's sale price is currently undisclosed.
