Design Unlimited

History

Superyacht design studio Design Unlimited was founded by Mark and Julie Tucker in 2000. Mark Tucker had worked for Camper & Nicholsons (Yachts) Ltd as an interior design specialist and Ken Freivokh Design as associate partner, and decided to apply this wealth of design knowledge and set up his own studio. The Design Unlimited team quickly established a reputation for interior design, as well as exterior styling, across both the production yacht market and the full custom superyacht sector for both sail and motor.

Notable yachts

Notable projects for the award-winning design studio include the restyling and reworking of the general arrangement of classic superyacht Shemara, the interior design and exterior styling for 54-metre Pink Gin (built by Baltic Yachts), the refit of Feadship’s 53-metre Mirage, and more recently, a full-custom interior for a Damen SeaXplorer 58. Other superyachts to have benefitted from Design Unlimited’s versatile skills include Bliss, WinWin, and the first WallyCento – Sir Charles Dunstone’s former yacht Hamilton II.

The studio works extensively with the production brands Sunseeker, Arksen, and Windy.

Specialisations

The studio handles all aspects of superyacht exterior styling and custom interior design, from general arrangements and deck layout to interior space planning. Their diverse portfolio includes work for refit and restoration yacht projects, which has become something of a specialism for the studio alongside their work on sailing yachts.

The team has won awards for several superyacht projects, including the 2015 ShowBoats Design award for WinWin as well as several World Superyacht Awards including Sailing Yacht of the Year for Pink Gin VI in 2018 and Best Refit for Mirage in 2016.
