Pip Rich runs through the movers and shakers of interior design and highlights in-the-know studios for yachts, jets and homes.

The former design director at Soho House crafted the brand’s influential aesthetic, informing a generation of homeowners who wanted its relaxed, comfortable and elevated approach. After completing Soho House Mumbai she set up her own studio, infusing private residences with a clever blend of luxe materials, decorative artistry and sumptuous fabrics you want to sink into. “Drawing on rich and holistic sources of inspiration – from art, cinema and design to fashion and craftsmanship – we create elegant, multilayered spaces that are sensitive, stylish and evoke emotion,” says Boronkay. lindaboronkay.com

Maddux Creative

Playing with a jewel box of kaleidoscopic colours, you’ll often spot a blue ceiling or a red sofa in the portfolio of Jo leGleud and Scott Maddux, this studio’s co-founders. But their designs are far from maximalist – instead, they employ a clever knack for editing to ensure these bright hues are uplifting and enriching, without being overwhelming. “We craft bespoke interiors that marry sophisticated elegance with innovative design, using unique colour schemes and carefully selected materials to create luxurious sanctuaries,” says leGleud. madduxcreative.com

Working with a purposely limited palette – you’ll mostly find variations of cream, white, beige and wood tones here – Ashby’s projects manage to be as rich as they are soothing. A leading light of the "minimaluxe" design movement, her spaces are pared back but filled with texture you can’t help but feel cosseted by. “Our goal is to craft timeless, sophisticated interiors that make our clients’ personalities shine,” says Ashby of her sensual and inviting approach. olgaashby.com

FM Architettura d’Interni

Based in Milan, this studio encapsulates the commitment to tailoring and detail the city is known for. As well as yachts like the plush 293-metre Njord, it has decorated homes from the Bahamas to Beirut and worked on hotels such as the Shangri-La at London’s The Shard. “Our motto is ‘I am my home,’” says FM Architettura d’Interni designer Davide D’Ascenzo. “Whether it’s a yacht or a residence, I love to define the space as a living being to be treated with the same care.” fm-arch.it

D-iD

One of the many beautiful things about the UK-based studio D-iD is how purposefully small it is and how efficiently it’s run. Helmed by Kate and Dimitris Hadjidimos, who focus on the architecture as much as the interiors, this means that every house or boat gets their full attention, touched and shaped directly by their own skills. “The clients’ needs are at the centre of our designs, creating curiosity and elegance for years to come,” says Kate. “We invent bespoke solutions and finish with artistry.” d-id.uk

Sabrina Monte-Carlo

Sky blue was the theme on 72-metre Coral Ocean, while 320-metre Ulyssia’s design centres around subtle flashes of gold. Both are by Sabrina Monte-Carlo, a brand that applies the ability to find a common thread to design homes, too. “The studio’s success is driven by its appreciation for fabrics and interiors, and a passion for creating warm and inviting spaces,” says the founder. sabrinamontecarlo.com

m2atelier

Founded by Marijana Radovic and Marco Bonelli, m2atelier is a bespoke studio for on land and at sea. “Our concept of tailoring translates into the creation of original stylistic codes, each time writing the unique rules of a new, custom-made aesthetic,” says Radovic. “Our streamlined design is summed up in the motto ‘Less is enough,’” adds Bonelli. “Our vision of sustainable minimalism ensures conscious and lasting design, aligning with the trend towards environmentally friendly solutions.” m2atelier.com

Luca Dini

Designer Luca Dini creates wow moments. There’s the home in Saudi Arabia where each space sprawls under dome-shaped ceilings, creating a sense of being cocooned. Or the 90-metre yacht that features an indoor jungle. Each project is imbued with an eye for theatre with an appreciation for how awesome – in the true sense of the word – good design can be. lucadini.com

Harrison Eidsgaard

After almost two decades as one of London’s most successful studios, Harrison Eidsgaard has developed a knack for fine interiors. Directors Ben Harrison and Peder and Ewa Eidsgaard have designed 36 aircraft, while notable yachts include 84-metre Atlas and 95-metre Madsummer. The design dial is set to lavish, with gleaming surfaces, deeply veined stone and intricately stitched textiles. “We deliver sophisticated and timeless designs,” says Harrison. he.design

Bannenberg and Rowell

Perhaps the most famous member of the team is Moose the dog, known for his often unscheduled role in the firm’s Zoom calls. But with such famous landmark yacht projects as Renaissance and Kappa, both 112 metres, and the Cloudmaster DC-6, it’s sometimes forgotten that the studio does interiors as well. And there is no space they can’t turn their hand to – or bring their wit and wisdom to. bannenbergandrowell.com

Pinto

The work of this Paris-based studio could be called “Regency with a twist” – with a grandiosity that could come only from one of the city’s most talented creatives. Fahad Hariri took over in 2020, bringing fresh energy, extra flair and even more passion for the decorative arts. Homes tend to be art-filled, yachts lean towards a monochrome palette and jets pair metallic gleam with buttery soft leather. In Pinto’s world, no seat is less than sumptuous, and no corner is less than high end. pinto.fr

Winch Design

It’s almost impossible to summarise the achievements of Winch Design founder Andrew Winch. He is responsible for yachts such the ultra-modern 80-metre Reverie with her bar made of glowing stone. He is behind the sumptuous Global 6000 aircraft and the way its hand-tufted aqua carpet reflects the spirited motif on its exterior. While each project has its own personality, they are all characterised by an impressive ability to play with scale and forge overtly luxe yet supremely welcoming decor. “We believe in comfort, adventure, possibility and freedom of both exploration and vision,” Winch says. “Our design is a reflection of the client and their character.” winchdesign.com
