World-leading British manufacturer Oyster Yachts is teaming up with BOAT International to be the principal partner of the prestigious World Superyacht Awards 2019. The world-famous annual event recognises the ingenuity and innovation of the most remarkable luxury yachts from across the globe, with winners receiving a coveted Neptune trophy. Attended by the elite of the superyacht world, owners, designers, top shipyard executives and ultra-high-net-worth-individuals will come together to celebrate the finest superyachts launched throughout 2018.
The partnership is a significant strategic move towards re-establishing Oyster as the pre-eminent luxury sailing yacht builder. This year is particularly important for Oyster, following its purchase by Richard Hadida in 2018, saving the company from administration. The new Owner and CEO Hadida commented: “Being the lead partner of the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards is a huge honour for Oyster and a natural fit as we return this much-loved British brand to its former glory.”
The 14th edition of the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards, in association with Oyster Yachts, returns to London in May 2019 after almost a decade at international venues, including Amsterdam, Istanbul and Florence.
Toby Moore, co-CEO of BOAT International commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Oyster Yachts, a much-loved brand of our industry and one with a great British heritage. Being a part of Oyster’s journey is a privilege and an honour. We look forward to dedicating our resources to supporting the long-term vision and development of Oyster worldwide.”
The illustrious three-day event begins with an exclusive champagne welcome evening at one of London’s most iconic venues, fit for royalty. The main gala takes place on Saturday 18 May, when more than 600 guests will gather at the historic Old Billingsgate for an evening of glamour, as winners are awarded their highly-regarded Neptunes. Special guests are also invited to enjoy a selection of exclusive social experiences, curated and hosted by BOAT International’s London team. The programme includes an elite golfing day at St George’s Hill Golf Club, silver service on board the opulent Belmond British Pullman train, and a day at the glorious West Wycombe Estate. “The standard of entries is incredibly high with over 50 nominees shortlisted by an independent panel of judges. We look forward to welcoming our guests at what’s set to be a spectacular event,” added Tony Euden, co-CEO of BOAT International.
The World Superyacht Awards is set apart from every other yachting awards thanks to an independent panel of judges made up of current and former superyacht owners. Members of the highly-credible judging panel collectively bring with them hundreds of years of experience in owning, running and managing superyachts. Categories include the inspirational Voyager’s Award, best displacement motor yachts, sailing yachts and the eagerly anticipated Motor Yacht of the Year Award. Hadida, Owner and CEO of Oyster Yachts, is set to present the esteemed Sailing Yacht of the Year award during the gala evening.
Attendance at the World Superyacht Awards, in association with Oyster Yachts, is strictly by application and approval only. Limited tables and tickets are available.
