VIP vacation: 7 luxury hotspots visited by Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez this summer

After a secretive getaway to the Bahamas in March, celebrity power couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodruigez enjoyed a vacation tour of Europe last month, spending much of it on board 50 metre luxury yacht Trending. If you're after a little Mediterranean inspiration, here's where they were spotted.

1. Miami

The beginning of their vacation saw the two boarding a private jet in Miami. During their time in Florida, the couple spent time with Rodruigez' sister, enjoyed a romantic dinner at Casa Tua and even hit the gym together.

Home to a myriad of superyacht marinas, there is something for everyone in this iconic American city. Nature fanatics should head to the ancient Everglades for an airboat tour to see the legendary alligators, while culture vultures should time their visit with the world famous Art Basel fair.

J.Lo and Rodriguez' private plane landed in Nice and the pair were spotted walking hand in hand down a pier to board a small tender. A video posted to Rodriguez' Instagram featured a slow approach to the swimming platform of Trending.

Nice is an extremely popular superyacht destination. Whether it's the winding alleyways of the stunning old town, the high end boutiques, the long sandy beach or the plentiful museums and galleries, there's plenty to do in this quintessential French city.

The couple then made their way to Monaco, where they enjoyed a tour of the Place du Casino. Surrounded by some of the best bars in the Mediterranean, they undoubtedly found a private spot to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat.

Famed as a hub for Mediterranean glitz and glamour, Monaco is loaded with exceedingly luxurious hotels, incredible spas and exciting nightlife. A favourite stopping spot of those cruising around the Côte d'Azur, highlights include the Hôtel Hermitage Crystal Bar and the Alain Ducasse à L'hôtel De Paris, one of the best restaurants in Monaco.

On arriving in Èze, a popular stop off for those cruising the Côte d'Azur, the two indulged in a romantic supper at the two Michelin-starred Chevre d'Or restaurant.

The medieval town of Èze is perched on top a rocky coastline with extraordinary views out to sea. An unmissable spot for anyone on a luxury yacht charter in the French Riviera, Èze is riddled with rustic eateries, colourful gardens, beautiful walking trails and historical sites – the village ruins at Le Mont Bastide are a must-see.

In Antibes, the two were seen sunbathing on board Trending and enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at the famous Eden-Roc restaurant at the Hotel du Cap.

Antibes boasts beautiful beaches, including Plage Mala, thought to be used by Rusian Tsar Nicholas II. Be sure to visit Fort Carré, a 16th century stronghold built atop Roman ruins that had a starring role in the James Bond film Never Say Never Again. If visiting in July, enjoy a week of thrilling jazz music events in venues around the town.

After a stop off in Cannes, Rodruigez and Lopez cruised over the St Tropez, where they had an outdoor yoga lesson together and tucked into supper on board. Departing the yacht, they continued the holiday in Paris.

St Tropez is a beautiful spot loaded with history, both in its many museums and in its rustic streets. Head to the old fishing quarter for some Instagram-worthy cobbled lanes and old buildings. Head to Le Club 55, one of the best party clubs to moor your superyacht at, for a leisurely afternoon of delicious food, crisp wine and celebrity-spotting.

The 50 metre yacht Trending is available for charter in the Western Mediterranean with Camper & Nicholsons, with a weekly summer rate starting from €210,000.

The final stop on their "baecation", as described by Lopez on Instagram, was Paris. They left Trending in the South of France and enjoyed a few days in the most romantic city in the world.

The couple enjoyed lunch at The Lourve, where the duo were seen taking pictures at the Jardin des Tuileries, a trip to the Eiffel Tower, ice creams while walking alone the Ile Saint Louis near Notre Dame Cathedral and it is thought that they went shopping along the Avenue Montaigne.

Worlds apart from the sandy beaches of the French Riviera, Paris is hub of culture and art. Don your comfiest city shoes and hit the galleries before grabbing a photograph at the Arc de Triomphe.

The pair have since returned to the US and J.Lo shared pictures of the whole family enjoying a 'staycation' in The Hamptons at the end of June.
