Roundtable report: Gender and diversity in the superyacht industry

This year, BOAT International, in partnership with shoreside recruitment specialists Superyacht Recruiter, launched the People & Skills survey. The results highlighted some of the imbalances within the industry; of nearly 500 responses more than 70% were male and 90.5% were white. However, more than 40% respondents recognised that diversity and inclusion was one of the biggest areas that the industry needed to change.

To tackle some of the issues raised by the survey and to try and find solutions, ten industry professionals were invited to a special roundtable event in Amsterdam (November 10). "The roundtable was a chance to bring a number of leading individuals from across the industry together to discuss key issues in a live and open setting, where genuine opinions and thoughts could be gathered on critical discussion points," explained Ed Ewer, founder of Superyacht Recruiter.
