Apreamare's new 11 metre dayboat harks back to the Italian yard's 19th century roots, with a gorgeous canoe-shaped stern and elegant lines developed in collaboration with Victory Design. This classic exterior conceals plenty of modern tech, with various Volvo Penta inboard engine options giving speeds of up to 28 knots controlled via a joystick manoeuvring system.
The best tenders and dayboats at the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show
Apreamare Gozzo
T/T Black Pearl
The spectacular sailing yacht Black Pearl is a notable absentee from this year's Monaco Yacht Show fleet, but she has sent one of her representatives along in her stead. This sleek limousine tender was created by Pascoe International, working in close collaboration with Ken Freivokh, and its dark blue hull matches the mothership exactly. Key features include fine Italian leather seating for up to 12 guests, panoramic windows and a full-length glass sunroof.
Dipiu 900
Straight from the drawing boards of Roberto Curto, the Dipiu 900 has the power to back up its sporty looks. Twin 350hp Mercruiser V8 engines propel this fast-planing carbonfibre/Kevlar cruiser to a thrilling top speed of 60 knots. Luxurious touches on board include shock-absorbing leather seats, a 34-inch curved television and plenty of wood and leather trimmings.
Alen 55
Best known for attracting some the world’s largest superyachts, the Monaco Yacht Show is also an ideal place to inspect the finest new superyacht tenders and dayboats on the market. We pick out the best of the best from this year’s line-up.
Turkish yard Alen Yacht will be exhibiting its 16.8 metre, 35-knot speedster, which is an evolution of its previous Alen 42. Dubbed the Alen 55, this new arrival is available in both chaseboat and dayboat guises and is distinguished by deep bulwarks and a large walk-around deck. What’s more, the extendable dining table means that you can host up to eight guests on board for a light meal.
Askur
Rafnar knows a thing or two about coping with challenging conditions, as the yard is based in the Icelanic city of Reykjavik. Its ÖK hull form is renowned for having exceptional seakeeping characteristics and visitors to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show will be able to get up close and personal with the latest model. Askur is hull number five in the 11.15 metre Leiftur 1100 Patrol series, and she has been fitted with a pair of 300hp outboard engines that promise a top speed of 46 knots. Four shock-absorbing seats ensure that your guests can enjoy the ride from the shelter of the pilothouse, even when the going gets tough.
Blue Spirit 8.5m Tender
Dutch broker Euro Offshore will be bringing an 8.5 metre Blue Spirit Tender to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, which would make an ideal companion to a large explorer yacht, given her stealthy black styling. Power comes from a 440hp Yanmar inboard diesel engine twinned to a Hamilton 274 waterjet system that promises a sporty ride for up to 11 guests.
Castoldi JT25
Italian jet-drive specialist Castoldi has a brand new model to show off at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Called the JT25, this 7.5 metre tender can carry up to 16 guests, with twin helm seats, an aft-facing bench and two large C-shaped wraps of seating. Those looking for the utmost speed can spec her out with a 370hp Yanmar diesel engine that promises 41 knots flat-out.
Fjord 42
German yard Hanse is returning to the Monaco Yacht Show this year and once again its 12.8 metre Fjord 42 will take centre stage. Developed in collaboration with Patrick Banfield of AllSeas Design, the newest model in the range can whisk 12 guests away for a day of fun on the water, reaching speeds of up to 43 knots thanks to a twin 435hp engine set-up.
Mazu 42WA
After a successful Monaco debut in 2016, Turkish yard Mazu Yachts is back with a new dayboat called the Mazu 42WA. Fresh from her global premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, this 11.99 metre beauty boasts an ample sunbathing area back aft and a forward cockpit, complete with V-shaped settee that can be converted into a dining table. Gaggenau appliances in the galley add to the high-end feel, while the sporty twin 435hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 engine set-up promises comfortable cruising at 32 knots, topping out at 47 knots.
M
Absolutely unmistakeable with her unique design, M is the first in a range of 18 metre wave-piercing speed machines to be built by new British yard Glider Yachts. Stability and power is the order of the day, as four 300hp supercharged engines are built into those slender sponsons, and the result is 56 knots flat out — ideal if you fancy blasting out of Port Hercules and over to St Tropez in less than an hour.
