The 37m Perini NORFOLK STAR, with her sleek steel hull designed by Perini Navi's in-house naval architects, is an outstanding Italian-build, effortlessly reaching a cruising speed of 11.4 knots and a maximum speed of 12.5 knots.
NORFOLK STAR underwent a significant refit during the winter 2019/20, which included a 5-year Lloyd's Survey, the addition of new Doyle Carbon-Spectra sails, newly installed BSI Rod rigging and a full exterior Awlgrip paint job on the hull, superstructure and masts. Further upgrades include a new Volvo Penta D13 main engine, gearbox, Kohler 55kW generators, Gianneschi fire and bilge pumps, two Gianneschi boilers, HEM watermakers, and a Bauer dive compressor. All monitoring systems have been upgraded and renewed, and she now features new VSAT, Fleet Broadband 250, Starlink, 4G Pepwave, GMDSS radios and more.
Inside, guests are greeted by a luxurious and sophisticated interior design featuring Cherry Wood finishes and lots of natural light. The style is contemporary yet timeless, with neutral tones creating a calming ambiance throughout. The bridge, located forward of the aft cockpit, offers fantastic 360-degree visibility and numerous skylights, providing easy viewing of the masts and sails. The area is equipped with every conceivable control within arm's reach, making it a comfortable and protected spot to undertake watches.
The upper salon and dining area are bright and airy, featuring an L-shaped sofa around a coffee table, a forward-facing desk with panoramic views, and a formal dining area in the lower saloon with an extendable walnut table. The galley is spacious and functional, equipped with modern amenities and extra freezer space beneath the sole, including an induction hob.
Accommodations aboard NORFOLK STAR include three beautifully appointed cabins that can comfortably accommodate up to seven guests. The full-beam master stateroom features a king-sized bed, a walk-in wardrobe, an en-suite bathroom with marble finishes and high-end fixtures, and a separate study area with a rich wooden desk and brass reading lamp. Additional staterooms include two family-friendly cabins with twins and Pullman, en-suite bathrooms and stylish décor. There is potential to accommodate eight if an additional Pullman is added.
The exterior design ensures a perfect balance between form and function. The main deck is divided into two comfortable areas: one with armchairs surrounding a coffee table and the other providing a formal alfresco dining area. The aft deck is well-protected from the elements, featuring a large, cushioned sunbathing area behind the shaded cockpit. The foredeck offers an ample lounging area with four comfy bean bags behind the main mast and a teak seat built into the pushpit for enjoying solitude and uninterrupted views of the ocean. A separate entrance on the foredeck provides crew access to the area below. The yacht also includes a large, steady boarding/bathing ladder on the starboard side midships and a new 2020 Williams 505 tender among her tenders and toys.
