Aurastel was built by one of New Zealand's leading shipyards and has been continuously maintained and upgraded, with her most recent refit taking place in 2017. Aurastel was originally delivered in 1986 by Thackwray with exterior design by Don Brooke. The ketch-rigged sailing yacht is comprised of a steel construction and a high bow, which allows her ocean going capabilities to be even more efficient - even under difficult sea conditions.
With a cruising speed of eight knots and a range of 2,200 nautical miles, Aurastel boasts very good sailing performance for a cruising yacht.
Aurastel's high sailing performance has allowed this worldwide cruising yacht to participate in many races, including the St Barths Bucket Regatta in which Aurastel was once awarded 3rd place.
Aurastel can easily be sailed by a crew of two.
Aurastel boasts three levels of lounging, relaxing and dining, and can accommodate up to seven guests in three cabins.
