Carol Williamson
History
Based in Portland, Oregon, superyacht interior designer Carol Williamson set up her studio in 1984 and has since offered a comprehensive array of interior design services to discerning clients from space planning to materials choice and sophisticated colour schemes.
Her complex evaluation both of a superyacht owner’s environmental requirements, architectural design knowledge and complex use of texture, shape and colour has led to some unique luxury interior designs, perhaps epitomised by the James Bond themed interior for John Staluppi’s yacht_Casino Royale_, which included sexy silhouettes of Bond girls on the frosted glass panes of the spiral staircase.
Notable yachts
Carol Williamson yacht interiors include D’Natalin IV – the recently launched Christensen Shipyards Custom Series 164 – along with Trinity’s 58.2 metre Carpe Diem, the Christensen 161 Casino Royale originally built for serial yacht owner John Staluppi, and US entrepreneur John Rosatti’s 49.4m megayacht Remember When.
Specialisations
Alongside luxury yacht interiors, Carol Williamson & Associates designs also extend to interiors for corporate spaces and exclusive private residential design. Based in the US, Carol Williamson has completed many megayachts with American shipyards including Christensen and Trinity Yachts. Carol Williamson’s interior styling for Carpe Diem achieved recognition as a finalist at both the World Superyacht Awards and the ShowBoats Design Awards in 2012.
