The brand-new Amels 60 hitting the water in spring 2025

What better way to start next year’s Med season than by taking ownership of a brand-new superyacht? Just imagine heading out into the crystal waters of the Mediterranean islands, joining the social scene in Saint-Tropez or venturing further afield to other continents in just a matter of months from now. And yes, even in today’s market, where build slots are hard to come by, fast delivery with a Dutch quality build is still possible.

The Amels DNA

The Amels 60, with her award-winning design, is an opportunity too good to be missed. This next-generation 60-metre superyacht hails from a successful legacy of Amels Limited Editions. Almost 20 years after Kommer Damen introduced the concept, more than 40 Amels Limited Editions now sail the oceans worldwide, celebrating success in both private and charter use. With a volume of 853GT, the Amels 60 boasts a striking Espen Øino exterior with contemporary and warm interiors by Harrison Eidsgaard and ocean-going naval architecture by Damen Yachting. She also benefits from 60 metres of Dutch yacht-building heritage, sought-after Amels pedigree and trusted Limited Editions investment value.

A first-time design collaboration

Harrison Eidsgaard was selected to create the interior design for this seventh Amels 60, marking the London design studio’s first collaboration with Amels. Having been given the brief of "we’d like to see what you come up with", the firm has conceived a reflective and thoughtful interior, the perfect canvas for any owner stepping in late to the build process. It is distinctly comfortable and tactile, forming a calm and relaxed onboard ambiance with enough flexibility for owners to add finishing touches.

Ben Harrison, co-founder of Harrison Eidsgaard, says: "This interior is undeniably contemporary, a home from home with a refined, sophisticated take on beach house luxury. We’ve concentrated on the detail and how it is executed, and that’s where you really see the difference between top brands like Amels and other shipyards. There are little touches of stainless steel, antique bronze, fluted details and lots of natural oak. Wood in wide stave floor planking and the ceiling provides a tactile, warm ambiance. Stone features inlaid within wood and soft, subtle curves are in keeping with the interior’s general tone."

The suite life

Situated forward on the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite, with a private lounge, his-and-hers bathrooms with a closed dressing room and an adjoining suite, is a private space to retreat to and make your own. The folding balcony draws the outside in, providing magnificent views and ocean breezes in total privacy.

Charter or private

With room for up to 12 guests and a crew of 13 plus captain, this Amels 60 is well-suited for both private and charter use. The overall design focuses on the onboard user experience with the vast sundeck being one of the standout features and among the largest on yachts in this size range. An optimised open tender storage area on the foredeck provides room for two large tenders that are stored outside and yet are not visible, complementing the exterior lines. The geometry of the trapezoid windows adds to her unique Espen Øino design signature.

The guest experience

The guest deck with four spacious guest suites is connected to the beach club, so guests have their own direct indoor access from the guest suites to the main deck and the beach club. All cabins sleep two and have beautifully appointed bathrooms. Two cabins are each equipped with two single beds that can easily be converted to a double bed. The beach club is where the Amels 60 really connects life on board to the fun, relaxation and adventure that await outside. This area features access to the swim platform, a sauna, a steam shower and a seating area. There is also ample storage for water toys.
