When choosing which superyacht to charter there are many different factors to consider, but if you have a need for speed then finding the fastest charter yacht is a must.

As well as the adrenalin rush choosing a fast superyacht to charter can give you greater flexibility and allow you to pack even more into your luxury yacht charter itinerary.

Here is a selection of 10 super-fast motor yachts which are available for charter.

1. Astro

If you have a need for speed then yacht for charter Astro (previously named Mirage) should definitely be a consideration. Baia delivered the 31 metre motor yacht in 2010 and she enjoyed a refit in 2014. Astro has a cruising speed of 40 knots and a top speed of 50 knots.

Astro is a Baia One Hundred model and has accommodation for 10 guests in four cabins. Her open top design provides great areas for socialising making her a great combination of performance and luxury.

As well as being one of the fastest yachts to charter, Astro also has one of the coolest yacht paint jobs with an imaginative inside-out design.

Following a major refit, fast motor yacht _Octopussy _is now back on the charter market. Octopussy became the fastest superyacht in the world when she first delivered by Heesen Yachts in 1998 — achieving a speed of 53.17 knots. She is powered by triple 3,480hp MTU engines linked to three KaMeWa water jets, giving a swift ride.

The 43.58 yacht can comfortably accommodate 10 guests and now also has zero speed stabilisers to ensure a comfortable stay while in port.

Octopussy is managed for charter by Worth Avenue Yachts and has a weekly charter rate of $125,000

As her name would suggest,  Antelope III is no slouch with a cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 36 knots. The 43.12 metre custom Leopard yacht was delivered in 2010 and is powered by triple 2,400hp MTU engines.

Available for charter in The Bahamas and British Virgin Islands, she has accommodation for nine guests and has a spa pool that you can relax in as well.

Antelope III is managed for charter by Hill Robinson and has a weekly charter rate of €143,433.

The appropriately named 41.5 metre yacht Dragon has aggressive lines, distinctive red touches and a top speed 35 knots.

Designed by Nuvolari Lenard and delivered by Palmer Johnson in 2010, the distinctive yacht can accommodate 10 guests and seven crew. With a fully serviced bar and whirlpool Jacuzzi, Dragon offers plenty of opportunity for fun for guests on board while enjoying her cruising speed of 28 knots.

Dragon is managed for charter by Ocean Independence and has a weekly charter rate of €125,000-135,000.

Rhino is a striking Riva 86 Domino which has been kept in mint condition. Reaching a top speed of 38 knots and with a cruising speed of 34 knots, the 25 metre yacht features contemporary lines with a sporty influence.

If you are looking for further speed-fuelled fun then Rhino is also equipped with a 98 horsepower Williams 385 Jet tender and a selection of towable water toys.

Rhino has accommodation for eight guests and is great option is you want to speed around the French Riviera in style.

Rhino is managed for charter by Bluewater and has a weekly charter rate of €47,600.

After undergoing and exterior refit this year 40 metre motor yacht Shane is now back on the charter market. Shane (formerly Ability) is a fantastic open yacht that offers both space and speed.

Powered by two MTU 3,750hp engines Shane boasts a top speed of 39 knots and has a cruising speed of 34 knots.

Shane is managed for charter by Yachting Charter and has a weekly charter rate of €95,000

Azimut motor yacht Thea Malta has a cruising speed of 40 knots and a top speed of 45 knots. The 27 metre motor yacht was delivered in 2008 and features interior styling by Carlo Galeazzi.

She can accommodate eights guests in four cabins as well as three crew members to look after you while you speed along.

Thea Malta is managed for charter by Atalanta Golden Yachts Athens and has weekly charter rate of €38,000.

Delivered in 2001 and having undergone a major refit in 2015, the Mangusta 108 open yacht  JFF has a top speed 38 knots. The 33 metre motor yacht can accommodate up to eight guests overnight and up to 12 guests while cruising.

As well as being available for weeklong charters, the fast yacht JFF is also offered for speed filled one day charters around Saint Tropez.

JFF is managed for charter by Natur'ally Yachting, and she has a weekly charter rate of €62,500.

Launched in 1990 by Siar Moschini, the 36 metre superyacht  Sunliner X has a comfortable cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum speed of 35 knots ensuring that guests can enjoy action filled charters.

She has undergone numerous refits, including new bathrooms in 2015 and can accommodate for eight guests in four cabins.
